Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager to join the Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Program Management team in Herndon, VA.

Boeing's Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) is a business unit within Boeing Defense, Space and Security that provides creative solutions to maritime systems and mission operations problems.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive experience in managing engineering or IT projects, and a background that qualifies them to effectively oversee its product line. The technologies (HardwareWall, Multimedia Message Manager, and Security Monitoring Infrastructure System) within the product line include software and hardware solutions that enable a cross domain solution, intrusion detection and message management for a variety of customers and programs within the US Government, DoD, Civilian, Intelligence Communities, and commercial markets.

The selected candidate’s specific responsibilities will include formulating and enforcing work standards, assigning schedules, reviewing work discrepancies, conducting program management reviews, managing development and delivery of quotes, and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to employees.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Aids the Products Program Manager in creating and executing growth strategies, including customer relations, internal and external team-building, and proposal management for existing and new work scope for the product lines

  • Translates strategy into meaningful, actionable objectives and plans while conveying a sense of purpose and mission that motivates the organization

  • Collaborates with product engineers and project managers to plan, execute, monitor and control over 20 concurrent multi-task contracts of various types and complexity

  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals to customers, focusing to maximize value and minimize risk.

  • Establishes go-to-market strategies, create pricing and specification sheets

  • Develops value propositions for products and create new and effective marketing materials

  • Establishes product budgets, monitor/control, and provide monthly progress against financial targets

  • Negotiates project changes and incorporate changes into project control systems to maintain work statements, and cost and schedule baselines

  • Fosters strong customer relationships through focusing on earning trust and respect of stakeholders

  • Motivates a group of individuals to a common objective, actively and effectively resolving conflicts between individuals with differing technical or procedural opinions

  • Demonstrates commitment to team diversity and develop an environment of respectful sharing of ideas for optimized problem solving

  • Promotes safety and integrity in all aspects of program

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • 5+ years’ experience in project or program management

  • 5+ years’ experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

  • 5+ years’ experience working directly with executives or senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years’ experience leading or managing program performance utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • Experience using Program Management Best Practices

  • Experience in Agile software development

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. 

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: USD $146,200– $197,800
