We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team in Kent, WA or El Segundo, CA. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for the development of estimates (labor, material, travel, etc) and cost/price proposals for new business activities. This assignment will primarily support our Advanced Space portfolio but may also support other Phantom Works division teams and a variety of internal and external customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development of complex estimates and prices from complex technical requirements through the design, build and support stages of the program
  • Leads development and application of complex estimating and pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques
  • Guides business proposals, evaluates and makes recommendations based on complex or unique requests for proposal and substantiates estimates and pricing
  • Leads and performs complex analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing and estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)
  • Coordinates and collaborate with proposal teams and cost element functional owners to develop appropriate basis of estimate and substantiation of cost estimates, proposals, and other related business decision data.
  • Provides fact-finding, negotiation and audit support of cost proposal artifacts and coordinate responses through proposal teams, as required
  • Supports, prepare and brief senior leader-level presentations, as required
  • Identifies, assess, and implement changes to processes, tools and techniques to simplify estimating and pricing methodologies and improve cost estimating accuracy

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree in at least one of the following fields: Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Project)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance
  • Understanding of proposal process and experience using data analysis to drive decision making
  • Knowledge of United States Government Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Experience with critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in multifaceted and diverse teams across multiple functions
  • Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with competing priorities

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.)

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range:   

(Level 4) $113,900- $154,100

(Level 5) $143,650- $194,650
