Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Hardware Software Integration Integrated Product Team Leader to join our Rapid Space Capabilities team in Kent Washington.

This position will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop flight software for a space vehicle and ensure the software successfully integrates to hardware to meet mission objectives; manage and oversee the development of flight software and ensure requirements are properly flowed; be responsible for building up and taking ownership of the suitable hardware-in-the-loop environments that integrate with the software and are used to sell off requirements; create and manage plans that ensure the flight software is delivered on-time and on-cost; regularly report performance to plan to customer representatives and the Program Manager.

Reporting directly to the Rapid Space Capabilities HSI Leadership and the Program Manager, the Hardware-Software Integration IPT Leader is a member of the program leadership team and will also be responsible for leading and mentoring the hardware-software integration team, promoting a positive work culture, supporting regular customer engagements, and exceeding customer expectations. In this position, you will be expected to have excellent communication skills and will interact with all levels of the Boeing organization, all the way up through senior executive management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing business management activities in the area of Program Management.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • More than 3 years of work experience leading or managing cross functional teams.
  • Experience working with software development, technical architecture or working with or managing enabling capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • More than 3 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in program management best practices (PMBP).
  • Experience with software development for space systems and ground segments performing command, control, mission planning and data processing.
  • Experience with interfacing at all levels of an organization and thriving in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience working with external customers and the various internal functions such as supplier management, financial operations, contracts, production operations and quality.
  • Strong project management, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $168,300 - $227,700
