We are seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Category Management Specialist (Level 4) to join our Indirect Supply Chain (ISC) Logistics team focused on the Transportation category.

​​Our ISC Logistics team is responsible for contracting services supporting the transportation, logistics and warehousing (TWL) needs across Boeing.

This is a critical role building and maintaining Boeing's global transportation network.  You will work closely with internal business partners and external carriers, forwarders and brokers to ensure the transportation network helps build a reliable, high-quality and value-driven supply chain.

You will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing strategy, supplier relationship management and contract management for all Boeing outsourced transportation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive integrated supplier and category strategies near and long term with key business partners covering transportation in air, ocean, trucking, parcel, rail, freight forwarding and customs brokerage across all Boeing business units

  • Partner with enterprise stakeholders including business units and functions to drive supplier and category vision into key activities such as long-term agreements, make-buy-transfer decisions and corporate initiatives

  • Lead strategic and tactical relationships with key transportation suppliers to drive service, quality and innovation

  • Advise business unit functions developing solutions for operational and business challenges including quality/delivery, long term agreement and negotiations

  • Understand and manage supplier performance by developing category KPIs to measure and improve performance

  • Drive yearly value collection for the logistics category

  • Develop improvement ideas and sourcing strategies by analyzing and understanding data

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to identify and develop business case and implementation plans for key high value projects

  • Partner with finance teams to optimize the total cost of ownership across the logistics portfolio

  • Guide, coach, and support procurement agents through contract life-cycle management, planning, and analytics, including collecting benchmarking and industry data for outside perspectives

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in category management or strategic sourcing

  • Experience with logistics management

  • 5+ years of experience managing metrics to drive data driven solutions/decisions

  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with internal partners to meet business goals and objectives

  • 3+ years of experience developing presentations for and presenting to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working with supplier management, supply chain, procurement and/or strategic sourcing practices and processes

  • Experience leading through influence (across business units, programs and functions)

  • Experience analyzing carrier performance, costs, and business processes and developing service level agreements in the transportation field

  • Experience with freight forwarding and/or transportation modes: FTL, LTL, international & domestic air freight, ocean, small parcel

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Relocation:

This position is for 1st shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business consideration.

Summary pay range: $98,600 - $154,100
