Boeing Global Services is looking for an Experienced Modification Technician Lead to join the F-15 team in New Orleans, LA.

Sign-on bonus available based on candidate eligibility

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The ideal candidate will create an environment oriented towards trust, open communication, creative thinking and a cohesive team effort. Utilizes extensive understanding of specialized aspects of the job, leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the modification, replacement or upgrade of the F-15 using engineering, retrofit, and TO documentation to implement changes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Promote Safety Culture, First Time Quality, FOD Reporting and SMS.

  • Provides status reporting of team activities against the program plan or schedule.

  • Provides guidance to the team based on management direction.

  • Routinely interacts with senior internal and external personnel on task accomplishment, perceived issues, and solutions pertaining to the aircraft modification in work.

  • Sets high expectations of themselves and the team placing safety, quality, and integrity as priorities while maintaining schedule and cost.

  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance

  • Lead the day to day maintenance operations ensuring that the Customer and organizational procedures and standards are complied with at all times.

  • Ensure timely execution of all maintenance and modification activities ensuring the Customer aircraft is returned to service in a timely manner and to the required standard.

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; uses resourcefulness to create appropriate solutions using established organization policies, practices, and procedures as guidelines.

  • Works under minimal direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining strategies and approaches to assignments based on procedures, goals, and objectives.

  • Provides training and mentors others.

The position undertakes the following:

  • Status project plans and works with leaders to remove constraints

  • Works to improve Boeing Production System processes and business systems that support vertical and capability decision makers. Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, and concepts.

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems referring to established precedents and policies.

  • Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignment; plans, schedules, and arranges own activities to accomplish those objectives.

  • Exerts some influence on the overall objectives, tactical goals of the organization.

  • Interacts with first line leader and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.

  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.

  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

  • Directs troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.

  • Oversees validation/verification testing of systems and components.

  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).

  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

  • Leads and supervises others to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system  operations).

  • Provides training and mentors others.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in military aircraft maintenance and/or modification

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a lead, a supervisor, or a manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Structural military modification experience

  • Electrical military modification experience

  • Mechanical military modification experience

  • Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $70,550 - 95,450
