Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a highly motivated, forward thinking 787 Flightline Operations Manager (Level K) to join the 787 Program in North Charleston, South Carolina with a Domestic Temporary Assignment (DTA) in San Antonio, Texas.

This position is a temporary assignment located in San Antonio, Texas. Candidates will be provided a DTA (Domestic Temporary Assignment) benefits package as applicable. The DTA is expected to end at the end of June, 2025 and position to be relocated back to North Charleston, South Carolina.

A manager in this role will develop cross-functional partnerships to achieve team and program goals while developing a work environment that promotes accountability, trust, teamwork, quality and safety.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery

  • Interfaces with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in the aerospace industry

  • 1+ years of experience in a formal or informal leadership position

  • 1+ years of Flightline experience

  • 1+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems and/or One Boeing Production System (One BPS) or equivalent production system

  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with any of the following: avionics, troubleshooting capabilities, functional test knowledge, release, ticket experience, manufacturing, and/or structures

  • 1+ years of experience using CMES and Velocity Software

  • 1+ years of experience working with airplane customers

  • 1+ years of experience with functional test knowledge

  • Minimum of 18 month’s hands-on experience with airplane production, maintenance and systems or possess an FAA A&P or Airman Certificate

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This position offers transportation benefits and a DTA (Domestic Temporary Assignment Benefit) based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $106,250 - $143,750
