Global Talent Acquisition is seeking an Advanced Information Technologist Senior Manager in Ridley Park, PA to join a growing Data Analytics, Engineering & Integration team within Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) tasked with transforming the way BDS data is sourced, managed, and utilized to unlock insights to drive business growth and optimization.  The team supports data needs for internal stakeholders, across BDS business programs and functions, and is tasked with utilizing data to inform and improve the full lifecycle of BDS products. 

As an Advanced Information Technologist Senior Manager - Architecture, you will be a thought leader in how to design, implement, manage, and scale our data platform leveraging modern data architecture, security, data management, and ETL technologies such as Databricks, Airflow, and others.  You will lead a team tasked with defining the lifecycle of the data platform that will ultimately be utilized to deliver data products and insights to our stakeholders and enable key business outcomes.

This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to partner, execute, communicate skillfully, and lead through influence and collaboration across the company.  The ideal candidate will have experience with large scale data platforms, cloud computing, project management, software development, requirements management, and business acumen with exemplary senior-level advising, and interdepartmental collaboration.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of data architecture & technology strategy, implementation, security, and sustainment for the BDS Analytics Data Platform

  • Advocate and define cloud data architecture vision, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems

  • Engage and partner with senior technical leadership to help shape and align the BDS Analytics Data Platform strategy

  • Lead development of plans, roadmaps, schedules, and budgets for build out and maturation of the data platform

  • Manages progress to plan, risks, and opportunities with team members, program leadership, stakeholders, and customers

  • Establish architecture standards, best practices, and operational principles to define design, development, and sustainment of the data platform

  • Develop and maintain metrics and measures of platform performance including security, reliability, availability, portability, and scalability.  Develop plans to improve key performance metrics and communicate plans with program leadership and stakeholders

  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.  Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership

  • Work closely and collaborate with partner and enterprise technical organizations

  • Establish an open, inclusive, and innovative team culture and lead a team of collaborators focusing on internal and external stakeholder satisfaction, efficiency, and flawless execution in the operational and service level agreements

  • Manage and grow a talented team tasked with solving complex problems within a high-growth, dynamic environment

  • Coaches, counsels, mentors, motivates, and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field

  • 10+ years of experience leading a technology development projects or teams

  • 10+ years of experience related to data pipeline development, data product delivery, or data service management

  • 5+ years of experience developing project plans, schedules, and budgets

  • Highly effective communication skills with senior leadership and technical team members

  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, time management, and organization skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience related to large scale data platforms

  • 1+ years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework enterprise (SAFe) or Agile

  • Experience with micro-services architecture and familiarity with multi-cloud architectures

  • Experience with containerization

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Experience working in a multi-functional, multi-functional team environment

  • Experience working in the aviation industry

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Ridley Park, Seattle): $174,250 – $235,750

Summary pay range (St. Louis): $163,200 – $220,800
