Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Software Manager, to join our team in Saint Charles, MO or Hazelwood, MO, who will be responsible for front line leadership of Support Equipment (SE) software engineers to design, development, integrate and test Software products used for

  • Loading and testing avionics on armament and missiles platforms for production and customer environments
  • Instrument measurement and control software for a wide range of technologies including digital and analog electronics, communications, guidance and control, avionics busses, R, thermal and vibration.
  • Automated test executive, logging, and station health management software.
  • Non-destructive inspection

The successful candidate will be leading highly-motivated software engineers across multiple Integrated Product Teams. This leader will be responsible for execution and performance of SE software for assigned programs and will provide technical management and guidance while supporting process improvements to develop strong software competencies for existing and future SE systems.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage personnel resources to ensure a fully staffed and trained team is available
  • Drive technical planning and execution, including Earned Value Management (EVM) duties
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members to ensure Software Engineering Design Practices, Independent Verification & Validation, and other engineering excellence initiatives are understood and implemented
  • Drive continuous improvement to ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds planned cost, schedule, technical performance, safety, and quality targets
  • Interface directly with customer counterparts for program software support
  • Support Program Management Reviews, Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, and the Enterprise Standard Gated Process
  • Perform Request for Proposal (RFP) review and software estimating activities to ensure contract budgets provide adequate support for software development tasks
  • Perform employee performance management and career development activities
  • Coordinate with other Boeing Engineering teams in the verification, validation, release and distribution of software products

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical degree
  • At least 1 year of experience in a software leadership role
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and managing software in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with production line testing of hardware, automated test equipment software, or support equipment software
  • Experience or training with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience with lab instrumentation and software control of instrumentation
  • Experience with DoD contracted programs

Summary pay range for Experienced:  $132,600.00 - $179,400.00
