Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an energetic and results oriented Senior Quality Manager (Level - L) to join the Quality Team in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable and competent professional who possesses the ability to work well across diverse groups and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries. The candidate will be a problem solver who relies heavily on data and analysis to drive decisions and a leader who can effectively implement solutions in an ever-evolving environment. The candidate will lead and support implementation of the Built-in Quality and Quality Improvement initiatives. Transformational leadership skills will be necessary to build team engagement and lead quality team members in implementing key initiatives may include One Boeing Production System, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Defect Reduction and Six Sigma processes.

The successful candidate will find implementation of new and innovative approaches including advanced process and production oversight methods and new technology to be an exciting and engaging aspect of their assignment.  The ideal candidate will exhibit resilience and tenacity in implementing improvements in an established and regulated production and quality system.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead an MBU Quality organization.
  • Lead, engage, motivate and guide the Site quality team.
  • Oversight of functions and activities that affect product quality with a Total Quality perspective.
  • Ensure compliance to the Quality Management System
  • Lead change and improvement across the production system and quality system
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of business unit processes.
  • Understand customers’ requirements and ensure they are satisfied.
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
  • Teach and rely on structured problem-solving methods to resolve issues and drive improvement.
  • Understand and teach current standards, policies and requirements.
  • Communicate with internal and external regulatory and compliance officials and support onsite audits.
  • Champion key initiatives including six sigma, analytics-based decision-making, forward-looking measures, APQP, standardized work and structured problem solving

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

If the successful candidate is not a “U.S. Person “(as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 “U.S. Person” includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees) and the position requires access to export-controlled data, an appropriate export authorization by the U.S. Government may be required prior to such access. Employment, and the continuity of employment of non-U.S. persons, is contingent upon the company’s ability to secure and maintain the necessary export control authorization.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 5+ years' experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • 5+ years' experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with executives, managers, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners.
  • 5+ years' experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change.
  • 5+ years' experience leading and influencing people in a Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing organization.
  • Must be able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 3+ years’ experience leading and executing (APQP) Advance Product Quality Planning Activities.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Quality Management Systems and/or the One Boeing Production System (One BPS)
  • The ability to manage, develop and motivate employees.
  • Demonstrated skills in Team Building, Systematic Problem Solving and Risk Mitigation.
  • Strong Quality Management Systems/Business Acumen; Adaptability, Communication, Continuous Improvement, Customer Focus, Managing Conflict, Building Positive Relationship, Ethical Leadership.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communication

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.   Summary pay range: 143,650 – 194,350
