Boeing Brazil is seeking Mid-Career Electrical Cabin Systems Design Engineer, reporting to the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos office.

The Mid-Career Electrical Cabin Systems Design Engineer will join the team in defining and integrating airplane electrical systems across our commercial fleet. This position will be assigned to work with Cabin Systems Team which includes interior lighting, passenger address systems, seat back video, passenger connectivity, In Flight Entertainment, and more.

All projects center on the translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications including the physical integration of electrical systems and components into our complex airplanes. Work with a worldwide supplier base to implement system hardware and software. Validate designs through both laboratory and airplane testing. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and through their production life. We are continually evolving the state of the art in commercial air transport.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Research and interpret engineering data including drawing specs, CATIA/CAD models, Installation plans and various maintenance procedures to develop systems requirements

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position is hybrid/telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.

  • Must have a degree in Engineering.

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).

  • Experience working in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer Engineering.

  • Relevant experience within Electrical Systems hardware and software design.

  • Experience with system design and integration during an airplane development program.

  • Experience with equipment design, specification and tests, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g. RTCA DO-160).

  • Experience in Electrical design; including but not limited to Electrical Systems design, Wire Design, Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design.

  • Experience with project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment.

  • Experience working with cross functional teams.

  • Familiarity with in requirement verification and validation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., V-model application on ARP-4754).

  • Experience with equipment and systems certification under regulatory authorities (e.g. FAA, EASA).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with internal and external customers and suppliers distributed across domestic and international locations.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
