Boeing Brazil is seeking Fluid System Standards Engineer, reporting to the Hydraulic Systems Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos office. 

The Fluid System Standards Engineer will work resolving emergent design, production, Supplier & In-Service related issues on the components that the department is responsible for.

The department is responsible for custodianship of the requirements for fluid systems components and processes, (i.e. Tubing, hoses, reconnectable & permanent fittings, clamps, seals, valves, couplings, metallic & non-metallic ducts and also the installation related requirements).

This position is specifically for tubes and ducts, where the engineer will be responsible for solving technical issues on the assembly line and labs.

Position Responsibilities:

•    Participates in Industry level committees & the development of new projects & initiatives. SAE International is the main organization we are active participants.  
•    Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve technical and business improvement goals.
•    Participates in assessing and improving organizational business processes related to; production engagement, manufacturer qualification for parts and processes, hardware usage and application control, and technical requirements management.
•    Proactively search for and capture cost reduction/avoidance opportunities. 
•    Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The candidate will need to have availability to travel for Short and Long Term Assignments.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

•    Must have existing rights to work in Brazil 
•    Fluent in both written and verbal English
•    Must be graduated in Mechanical Engineering
•    Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia – CREA)
•    Experience with tubes, ducts and manuals
•    Experience with tubes and ducts manufacturing/installation/maintenance

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

•    Have a strong technical mechanical, engineering skills & analysis background.
•    Experience managing and developing technical requirements documentation. 
•    Experience with root cause corrective action (RCCA), problem solving & laboratory testing is desirable. 
•    Good interpersonal skills and willingness to take an active role working with Supply Chain and outside suppliers to work in-service issues and new product development/qualification.
•    Experience with aircraft standards commodities (i.e. Tubing, hoses, reconnectable & permanent fittings, clamps, seals, valves, couplings, metallic & non-metallic ducts) is desirable.
•    Experience with fabrication and installation processes, i.e. material joining (swaging, welding), ducting & tubing forming is desirable.
•    Experience with airplane fluid systems and system design, i.e. Mechanical Hydraulic Systems, Fuel Propulsion Systems, Water/Waste, Oxygen, and/or Environmental Control Systems is desirable.
•    Lean 6-Sigma Training or lean manufacturing training is desirable
•    Have strong project management skills, ability to manage schedules & resources to ensure on time completion of projects.
•    Good working skills & capabilities of the Microsoft application suite.
•    Have a good perspective and enthusiasm for creating highly collaborative working relationships and team building.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
