Boeing Brazil Engineering is seeking a Senior System Engineering Architecture, Modeling and Simulation to join our team in São José dos Campos, Brazil office.

The engineer could work supporting the development and documentation of the ECS (Environmental Control System) and its sub-systems, such as pneumatic, air conditioning, ventilation, filtration, smoke control, pressurization, system controller, ice & rain protection, humidity, gas treatment & generation (OBIGGS), system software, system hardware, sensors. The ideal candidate will have a strong system engineering & system architecture background and be well versed in architectures as well as modeling systems physical & transient behaviors.

Performs and documents analyses to design, validate and verify systems, sub-systems and components requirements. Works independently with minimum supervision. Leads, trains and mentors’ other engineers. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Knowledgeable of how the business and organization operates.
  • knowledgeable of policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the business and organization; understands the competition and the marketplace.
  • Understands how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations. Applies this information in a way that contributes to the organizations strategic plan and bottom line.
  • Works closely with Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) to provide engineering work related to Environmental Control Systems (ECS) of new developments and airplanes in service;
  • Prepare and evaluate documents for system and parts selection.
  • Leads, build and maintain the development of models and simulations of ECS architecture, systems, sub-systems, components and the associated tools;
  • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify that sub-systems and components meet requirements and specifications;
  • Develops ECS design solutions and provides integration with other ECS sub systems, interfacing Systems, Structure, Aerodynamics, Safety Integration, etc.
  • Supports ECS design projects where new designs or redesigns are required to meet product quality and performance improvements;
  • Supports artifacts for new or revised designs aiming at showing compliance with Airworthiness and Operational Regulations;
  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
  • Liaising supplier development, test and production activities, aiming at optimizing integration and meet program goals.
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
  • Supports earlier development phases with technical contributions and performing trade-off analysis and documentation.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems or Aerospace);
  • Must be legally able to work in Brazil;
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia – CREA);
  • Solid communicator, advanced level in both written and verbal English;
  • Able to work collaboratively with multi-functional team;
  • System engineering work experience;
  • Experience with fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mass or heat transfer principles;
  • Modeling and simulation work experience;

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • System engineering work experience (desirably in HVAC, or ECS, or automotive cooling/heating systems);
  • Experience in Model based design or Model based system engineering.
  • Experience in traditional engineering analytical methods and Aerospace/Industry Standards (SAE ARP 4754A, SAE ARP 4761, RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-331, etc).
  • Master’s Degree, or PhD or equivalent degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry;
  • System engineering work experience, including supplier selection and product development;
  • Requirements configuration management tools (DOORS).
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming tools (Cameo® – SysML, MBSE-Capella®, Matlab® – Simulink® and/or Simscape® Toolboxes, FloMaster®, AMESim®, Python® etc.)
