Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Customer Support Engineering is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join their Retrofit Engineering – Service Bulletin team in Seal Beach, CA.

Our team of engineers support over 13,000 aircrafts around the globe and work closely with our customers to ensure their fleet is operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

As a Retrofit Engineer, you will work on developing retrofit plans that meet our customer’s need to keep their fleets updated for the latest safety and reliability requirements. This position supports Out of Production (OOP) Models, 747 and/or 767.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and interpret engineering data including drawing specs, CATIA/CAD models, Installation plans and various maintenance procedures to develop retrofit requirements

  • Manage and execute retrofit project from beginning to end under general direction with technical lead

  • Support various program leadership, change process and customer meetings to understand retrofit requirements

  • Maintain project schedule, monitor project progress, and work with technical lead to manage risk in timely manner

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team including design engineering and various reviewers

  • Engage in on-site validation procedures at airline maintenance facilities

  • Research and resolve issues reported by Airlines retrofitting the airplanes

  • Develop and manage parts/bill of materials for given retrofit project

  • Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate retrofit solution against customer requirements and able to influence changes as needed

  • Able to effectively communicate external and internal customers as required

  • Occasional travel required to support on-site Service Bulletin validations and requested technical assistant

  • Works under minimal direction

  • Willing to stay late or occasionally work on weekends/holidays to support retrofit work and/or airline reported issues

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years of engineering experience in the Aerospace industry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in Electrical design; including but not limited to Electrical Systems design, Wire Design, Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design

  • ABET accredited degree

Typical Education / Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range: $79,050 - $106,950
