Boeing Global Services (BGS) seeks an Associate Flight Simulator Design Engineer to join the Training & Simulation Digital Services (T&SDS) Engineering team in Seattle, WA. This position will provide Simulator Package Development & Lifecycle Support to Training Device Manufacturers (TDMs) and End User Customers (EUCs).

As an Associate Flight Simulator Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and tracking aircraft changes and trade studies by evaluating service bulletins, change notices, and airplane design documents (ICD, SCD, etc.) to identify changes that require modification to simulator data packages.

  • Supporting technical meetings with airplane program engineering, aircraft suppliers, and training device manufacturer personnel. This involves providing technical expertise and assistance in discussions related to simulator package development and integration.

  • Assisting in the integration and documentation of Boeing Simulation Package updates into Block Points. These updates are then released to training device manufacturers and customers. You will also develop release correspondence to inform customers about planned changes and potential impacts on their training devices.

  • Researching and supporting the response to technical questions from customers to resolve flight simulator qualification or operational issues. You will collaborate with various Boeing and Supplier technical organizations to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response and help manage the technical query backlog to ensure timely and high-quality responses are provided.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry AND 2 or more years’ of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • 1+ years' experience in leading technical projects and managing technical data content and configuration

  • 1+ years' experience working with aircraft Systems Integration such as avionics, flight controls and other mechanical systems

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):.

  • 1+ years' experience you have with Boeing airplanes, airplane systems knowledge and a broad engineering skill set

  • Experience with technical writing and editing

  • 1+ years' experience demonstrating creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
