The Boeing Company is looking for a Flight Test Radio Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA.

As a Flight Test Radio Technician, you will support flight testing with a variety of services including HF/VHF/UHF, Microwave, Global Positioning System (GPS), Wind Stations, Landing Navigation systems, and Satellite systems. You may be called upon to perform research/ordering of equipment, installation/testing of radios, software development/testing, or to directly support flight tests by operating test support equipment in the field.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. They will be adaptable and learn new skills quickly.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Experienced Flight Test Radio Technicians.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot VHF, UHF, and HF radio equipment and antenna systems

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio and video distribution equipment (analog and digital)

  •  Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot telemetry and data systems

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Wind Station, GBAS, PGBAS, TCAS Hardware

  • Travel to remote locations to do all of the above

  • Stay knowledgeable and current in the field

  • Support weekend work

  • Support short-term travel, domestic and international.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience working in a laboratory and/or test environment

  • Ability to obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL)

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 35lbs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Associate degree or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Have an active FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL)

  • Experience with fundamental radio design and operation.

  • Experience with radio equipment (VHF, UHF, and HF).

  • Experience with broadcasting and receiving signals over satellite systems.

  • Experience with point-to-point data connections over IP networks.

  • Experience with field operations on airports.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2): 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

Experienced (Level 3): 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.    

Summary pay range for associate level: $51,000 - $69,000

Summary pay range for experienced level: $59,500 - $80,500
